Opthalmology Medical Resource Guide
source: Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation (EDNF)
year: 2008
authors: Diana Driscoll, Patrick Wyse, Linda Neumann-Potash
summary/abstract:The most recognizable opthalmological consideration in EDS is the very rare kyphoscoliotic type. But considering the sclera and cornea are mostly collagen, patients with EDS or any collagen related disorder should be carefully watched for ocular disease. Opthalmological abnormalities in EDS include but are not limited to myopia, retinal detachment and galucoma. Some of these can be vision threatening.
