Atlantic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Society (AEDSS) is an official ILC Foundation chapter member covering the Atlantic Region, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Its primary goal is to bring together individuals and families with the diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. In addition to facilitating a monthly peer support group, it also strives for advocacy and education by sharing resources and making important connections in the medical field. Co-Founders, Tanya Brown and Nicki Himmelman, founded the society in April 2014 when they both realized the lack of resources that came from diagnosis, and wanted to help others in Nova Scotia facing the same challenges. To date, Atlantic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Society has over 30 members, and continues to grow monthly.
