Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome Network C.A.R.E.S. Research

The Value of Medical Research. Why is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome(EDS) research so important for our disease. Medical research is a search for treatments and for helping find cures. It’s so critical to understand EDS, especially the vascular type because people with vascular type can die before the age of 50yrs old. It’s also important that the pharmaceutical industry participates in the development process.

When we recently heard why another EDS foundation doesn’t do research when they say they do research on their website, one of their members said because they are too small, so they just concentrate on awareness and support. They just can’t do it all. Another member said that this EDS foundation told people to give their donation right to the lab. Those guidelines were set-up by this same EDS foundation.
